Norfolk Paint Parties are designed for everyone, even if you’ve never painted before, so if you're a beginner or someone simply wishing to quite literally brush up on their skills, come along and join me.
I take you through a simplified guided tutorial showing you step by step, brush stroke by brush stroke guide to creating your own unique fabulous piece of art on a 16” x 12” canvas. I show you how to mix paints for the best results, how to correct mistakes, which brushes to use, different techniques, right down to how much water to dilute the paints with.
Not forgetting it’s a great way to have fun, relax and paint your very own creation.

The perfect gift
Norfolk Paint Parties are a fantastic gift idea for birthdays, baby showers, Mother’s or Father’s day, hen parties, Christmas parties. Corporate events, Children’s birthday parties (min age 10) and much more.
Painting gift sets
A variety of painting gift sets will be available for sale including brushes, canvases, an easel and paints. These are available to purchase for yourself or just as gifts.
They are priced extremely competitively to encourage the love of art.
Book a private party
This could be from your home, the workplace or a chosen venue.
I bring all the materials the same as a standard paint party including waterproof tablecloths.
I have a selection of paintings for you to choose from or If you have your own idea what you would like painted at a private event then I can create something just for you.
The minimum for an adult’s private party is 10. The maximum 30. (Larger parties can also be accommodated. Please enquire for further information).
Depending on the location Norfolk Paint Parties may be able to recommend venues. Please note the payment and booking of the venue is the customers responsibility.
Book a children's party
Children just love to paint and they receive exactly the same materials as an adults party, including a 16” x 12” canvas to take home.
The minimum number for a childs party is 10, the maximum is 24.
Once set up to go, the painting session last between 75-90 minutes.

Here's how it works
Norfolk Paint Parties are not stuffy affairs, they’re about having fun, trying something new and having a great time. Whether you come on your own, with friends or family, everyone is made to feel welcome. Plus perhaps like many guests, you may discover a new hobby. And it really is true when I say over 90% of first time guests have never painted at all or at least not since school. Their artwork is certainly proof of this.
The paints you will be using are acrylics. These are water soluble and dry quickly plus they’re extremely versatile. Making them ideal to work with.
You’ll be using between two and five different brushes, each of which have a purpose and I will show you how to use each one as we paint through the whole process. Other materials provided include an apron, a cloth to dry your brushes, a cup of water, an easel for your 12” x 16” canvas and a palette that will contain a variety of different colours.
The subject you’ll be painting may contain guidelines or markers pre drawn onto the canvases which I add myself to help you to paint with confidence and have a really good experience. No different to how I paint as a professional artist. For example animals will contain outlines for the basic features such as eyes, nose and ears etc.
If you wish to add your own personal touch to your painting, different colours or to go freestyle with no markers to guidelines, that’s absolutely great, but I will need to know a minimum of 24 hours in advance as additional supplies may be required, and do please note I will be guiding everyone else to follow the original painting so you will need to be confident to paint your own ideas.
I will take you through every single step of the painting process showing you how to mix paints, which brush to use, techniques and much more. Plus I’m always there to help if you get stuck. (As mentioned the paints dry very quickly so as with all paint parties we do work at a pace to match).
“Trust the process”. Being taught step by step also often seems very alien, You may question what and why you are doing things, that’s normal. A lot more goes into your painting than just adding a few colours, especially when layering. So being patient and just going with the flow is all that’s required. Again trust the process!
We have a break at half time and it’s advisable to pre order your drinks when you first arrive and they will be ready and waiting for you at a set time. We only have between 10-15 minutes interval so it’s always a good idea to do this plus it gives you chance to titivate your painting should you so wish before we start again. (Most venues have bar facilities and also sell snacks which are open upon guests arrival. Several also have restaurants).
Once you have finished and signed your painting it’s time for the group photograph. This is when you’ll see other peoples art work more clearly too and I for one absolutely love this moment as everyone’s paintings always look fantastic all together. I’m also available to take a quick photograph of individuals/friends/ family pics too. Please just ask. Don’t forget your photographs will also be featured on my Facebook page “Norfolk Paint Parties”.
Please check the venue you are booking for event times as these do vary. Also remember to arrive nice and early to secure your seats.
Finally, you get to take your artwork home and show it off to friends and family.
Booking a private party

The minimum for an adult’s private party is 14. Or 18 from the 20th November to 23rd December. The maximum number of guests is 32 (Larger parties can also be accommodated. Please enquire for further information).
Depending on the location Norfolk Paint Parties may be able to recommend venues. Please note the payment and booking of the venue is the customers responsibility.
This may also incur an additional fee based on the distance.
Booking a children's party
Children just love to paint and what better way to celebrate their birthday in style.
They receive exactly the same materials as an adults party, including a 16” x 12” canvas to take home.
Depending on number of children additional adult supervision may be required. Adults are are also welcome to join in and paint for the same price as show below.
The minimum number for a childs party is 10 with a flat fee of £240.00
11-15 children an additional £15.00 per child.
16-28 children an additional £10.00 per child.
Minimum age 9.
Once set up to go, the painting session last between 60-90 minutes.

Top tips to get the most out of your experience
Welcome to Norfolk Paint Parties.
I hope you will love your experience and like so many guests be very proud of your finished masterpiece.
If you have already booked tickets on behalf of others please ask them to visit my website and peruse through the following information along with “How It Works”.
If you are attending a paint party at a venue you have not visited before it is advisable to contact them regarding parking facilities and the whereabouts of the event itself.
Upon your arrival the bar will be open at all venues, also serving tea’s and coffee’s. So feel free to place your order and don’t forget to pre order your interval drink if you’d like one as we only have 10-15 minutes which may not give you enough time to get served at some venues.
Once the function room is open. (No sooner than 30 minutes prior to the start time). You are welcome to enter and find your seats. Please make yourself known to me so I can check off your details. It is advisable to arrive close to the opening time otherwise I cannot guarantee you will get sat with other members of your party. Only groups of 6 or more may have their seats reserved (please contact me at the time of booking your tickets with the lead contacts name and order number). If you are in smaller group, you may reserve your friends seats yourself if you arrive first, simply place items such as scarves etc on the chair/s.
The subject you will be painting will be on display when you arrive. It’s a good idea to take a photograph on your phone so you can zoom in on sections whilst painting if you need to.
Two empty buckets will be positioned on a table with a number of jugs containing clean water, once your water becomes too discoloured to use simply empty it into the bucket and refill with clean water.
LATE ARRIVALS. Events always start on time or as soon as everyone is present. If a guest is 15 minutes or more late unfortunately they will not be able to join the group under any circumstance as it will be impossible to catch up and the event cannot be paused. For late arrivals of up to 15 minutes it is the guests responsibility to catch up from neighbouring artists if they are happy to oblige as the event cannot be paused or slowed down.
If you wish to bring your own paints/brushes/palette etc. please feel free to do so.
Could you kindly please remember to put your phone on silent so other guests are not disturbed.
Don’t wear your Sunday best! Although very rare and you’ll be wearing an apron that’s supplied, there’s a slim possibility paint may find its way onto your clothes, particularly around the sleeves, and whilst acrylics are water soluble and fairly easy to remove wet. When dry it can be difficult, often impossible, so do bare this in mind.
Photographs and the occasional video may be taken during a paint party which may go on various social media platforms. If you do not wish to be included please notify me before the event starts, and simply hold the canvas above eye level during the group photograph if you wish to remain anonymous.
Many people frame their masterpieces to show them off. You just need the frame itself, no glass or mount board. It’s a good idea to varnish it too which will protect the painting. There is a variety widely available for this purpose.
Depending on the class and the group size, events may finish slightly early or several minutes later including the group photograph time too. Please factor this in if you are arranging a lift/taxi.
